VETERANS APPRENTICE TO OWNER PROGRAM

Margaret C. (Marti) Stiteler

COO-CFO

As the Chief Operating Officer of 1 VET AT A TIME (1VAAT) Marti is an essential member of the executive leadership team and performs multiple roles including those of the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer.  Throughout her life she has been close to and impacted by members of the military but it was her father, a WWII veteran who entered the U. S. Army Air Force in 1942 serving in the 311th Fighter Squadron in the Pacific until November 1945, who most fostered her appreciation for veterans and influenced her growth as an entrepreneur.  Today, her passion is veteran entrepreneurship and creating awareness around the necessity for pro-veteran lending criteria and programs which facilitate small business ownership.

A visionary entrepreneur with a career spanning more than three (3) decades, Marti founded, managed, grew and sold her own multimillion-dollar telecommunications company and subsequently held executive leadership and C-level positions in public, for-profit and nonprofit sector organizations.  She is skilled in business planning, strategy, metrics and operations, financial management and budgeting, problem solving, project management, and IT.  During this key period of strategic focus as 1VAAT shapes its direction and gains momentum in advancing its mission across the country, she is strengthening the 1VAAT infrastructure to support, sustain and ensure the successful coordination of its educational initiatives, fundraising, and programs expansion in order to achieve the goals set under an ambitious agenda.

Marti studied business at Averett University and residential design at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale graduating with the Highest Achievement Award.  She has served as a director on a number of for-profit Boards and has also held a Virginia Real Estate Salesperson License for over 14 years.
